DJ Zinhle Crowned with the Powerhouse Award
KwaZulu-Natal-born DJ and entrepreneur, Ntombezinhle “Zinhle” Jiyane-Mahosana, says women in South Africa can achieve remarkable success if they stand together.
The 42-year-old star, who hails from Dannhauser, received the Powerhouse (SheCan) Award at the 2025 WomenCan Awards Gala Dinner held at the luxurious Mhulu Boutique Hotel in Midrand, Johannesburg.
Speaking after the ceremony, DJ Zinhle said the award carried deep meaning for her because she owes her journey to the women who uplifted her.
“This award is not just mine—it belongs to every woman who dares to dream without fear and who carries passion in her heart,” she shared.
Celebrating Women Leaders
Event organiser Tumi Mthembu said DJ Zinhle stood out among nominees because of her ability to lead and mentor other women.

DJ Zinhle is widely regarded as a trailblazer in the male-dominated DJing space. Since 2018, she has consistently topped the DJane Top African Female DJs ranking.
She also features prominently on the list of the Top 100 African Female DJs, proving her staying power in the industry.
Beyond being only the second woman after DJ Cndo to break into the South African DJing scene, Zinhle also co-founded the Fuse Academy, a DJing school that has unearthed fresh female talent across the country
