South African rapper and entrepreneur Cassper Nyovest has spoken candidly about being body-shamed online, admitting the criticism about his weight left him “hurt and heartbroken.”
In a viral video, Cassper also known as Mufasa was seen performing at a music event hosted by DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small (Scorpion Kings). Afterward, he revealed that the constant comments about his body pushed him to make changes.
“I won’t lie, what people said about my weight really hurt me. It gave me a heavy heart,” Cassper confessed.
The Rapper Returns to the Gym
Determined to prove his critics wrong, Cassper said he is back in the gym and has started training to rebuild his body. His focus, he added, is not only on weight loss but also on building muscle and regaining confidence.
“Sometimes you need something to push you. I want to show people I’m no failure. I’m still Mufasa the King,” he said.
Countdown to Fill Up 2025
Cassper also reminded fans that his highly anticipated annual event, Fill Up, is just three months away. This year’s show will take place on 6 December 2025 at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.
The Fill Up series has become one of the biggest annual music events in South Africa, with Cassper dedicating it to his fans as a thank-you celebration.

Tickets for Fill Up Toyota Stadium 2025 are already available, and Cassper promised fans an unforgettable night.
