Mbokazi, who became one of Pirates’ key players and even earned a captaincy role, first impressed Broos during early-year friendlies against Tanzania and Mozambique.

“Since I arrived at Bafana, I’ve never seen a young player with more talent than Mbekezeli Mbokazi,” Broos said in Auckland Park, Johannesburg.

“He communicates well with teammates, he is strong on the ball, disciplined and confident.” There’s nothing to criticize.  The qualities he has qualities for success in EuropeI don’t see him staying at Pirates for long if he continues to develop this way.”

Squad Adjustments Due to Injuries

Due to injuries to key players like Themba Zwane, Grant Kekana, and Nkosinathi Sibisi, Broos called up Mbokazi, Samukele Kabini, Khulumani Ndamane, and Siyabonga Ngezana.

“I trust all the players in this squad. They understand the importance of winning these two matches. It’s crucial to secure victory against Lesotho first and then focus on Nigeria, who are a strong team,” Broos added.
