MacG and Robot Boii Make Their Acting Debut

On Sunday, Shaka iLembe fans were ecstatic to see two well-known characters in guest roles on the popular drama: podcaster MacG and performer Robot Boii.
MacG, whose real name is MacGyver Mukwevho, has built a name as the host of Podcast and Chill. Robot Boii, son of poet Mzwakhe Mbuli, has gained fame as a dancer and musician, appearing in several chart-topping music videos.
Their Cameo Roles in Shaka iLembe

The pair appeared during a battle scene, where the camera lingered on them.
- King Phakathwayo (Akhona Ndlovu) received praise lines from Robot Boii, who portrayed a poet.
- MacG joined the king’s warriors, chanting traditional proverbs in unison.
Speaking on his podcast, MacG shared that while the role was small, it was a milestone for him:
“We were on screen for about five minutes, but it took us a whole day to shoot that scene. For me, it’s history I’ll one day tell my grandkids.”
Behind-the-Scenes Challenges
MacG also confessed to fumbling his lines multiple times, accidentally slipping into English despite the historical setting:
“They told me there was no English 600 years ago and I should stop using it. It was tough, but eventually, I nailed it.”
Both MacG and Robot Boii said they gave the cameo their all, determined to shine in their first acting opportunity.
